The Bats Are Alive!
The offensive barrage started in the first inning with a monster shot by Zyhir Hope (LAD) followed by another mammoth blast by Tim Elko (CWS) on the next pitch.
The hits and runs continued all game for both teams.
Seven of the 9 batters had a multi-hit game with 3 players, Colson Montgomery (CWS), Zyhir Hope (LAD), and Otto Kemp (PHI) all having 4 RBIs each.
The Desert Dogs had 5 Home Runs including 2 from Kemp and one from Montgomery, Hope, and Elko.
Brock Wilken (MIL) had a solo Home Run for the Javelinas.
Overall, the pitchers struggled for both teams giving up a combined 30 hits and 14 walks while hitting 5 batters and throwing a plethora of wild pitches.
The Desert Dogs have taken over first place at 5-2, while the Javelinas drop to 2-5 on the young season.
